More Than Words?

Music? Audience Of One - Big Daddy Weave
Mood? Content but Tired

This weekend was fun. Washers and Sunburn.... and Cajun Boiled Peanuts. haha
Oh well. Guys, It has been a great weekend.

Anyway, Today Worship is on my heart. Sometimes, I think the band and I and a lot of other people all around the world just walk into a worship service and expect to get something out of it. Yes, worship services are extremely important, and they cause you to feel great about yourself.... This is a very important thing in all Christian's lives. Many people, including myself, walk into worship services and expect God to pour himself out on you. But that is not at all how it works. There is a wonderful song that explains it perfectly.

And here I am to worship,
here I am to bow down,
here I am to say that you're my God
You're altogether lovely,
altogether worthy,
altogether wonderful to me.
- Chris Tomlin

Some people reading this will be like 'I don't understand', or 'thats a great song but what are you talking about?'. What I am saying is that any point of worship is completely dependent on the person that is doing the worshipping. God will be there, you may not feel Him, but he's there. The worship is not about how you feel, or what you want God to do in your life at that point and time. Worship, at least in a worship service, is just that. It is nothing more that giving God everything that you are for a time and singing or praying or lifting hands or dancing for God Jehovah and His enjoyment. Yet, it is amazing to me how many people come into worship to make themselves feel better, and it can, but thats not the purpose of it. Worship is all about God and nothing else. So remember that next time you walk into a worship service, no matter what you are doing, whether it be running sound, playing an instrument, or just being part of the congregation, you have an AUDIENCE OF ONE. Remember, God is the reason for worship.
