Music? Is that what this is?

Music? Sleepwalking - Blindside
Mood? Yes Please...

This weekend has got me stressed out, and I can't wait to get it over with but at the same time I can't wait to experiece. The Statewide BCM Conference is gonna be a ton of work and a ton of fun (I hope...). Oh well...

My roomate made a good point the other day. (Which are few and far between.) Why is Chifristian music becoming so formulaic? Listen to a Christian radio station sometime and see if they all have the same kind of verse chorus verse chorus them and same kind of chord structure. And if you don't know anything about that kind of stuff then listen for something new on Christian radio. If you hear something new and intuitive then please tell me. Mainstream Christian Music has become so consistent in almost every aspect. There needs to be some variations on what people sing about. This is not to say that they need to stop singing about Christ, but instead of singing about it in the same normal complacent fashion as most, an artist could change up the music style. Not everything thats on Christian radio should resemble Micheal W. Smith's Worship Album. That is going to drive away new listeners. There are really refreshing and good Christian artists out there that need airplay, but not just on Web Radio, on FM waves too. FM Static is a band that is different from the typical Christian music, and is up on the Christian Rock charts, but in the upstate of South Carolina? I have never heard them on the radio. Around here the Sound Of Light is the only thing that would consent to play Christian music like FM Static or Blindside or Emery. Maybe its just where I live, but the regular stuff is getting really boring...

I just needed to get that off my chest. Feel free to e-mail me about it. (Look to the right.) Remember, music is an expression of self, not an imitation of someone else's smash hit. Later...
