"Oh my people..."

Mood? Cooled Off...
Music? Chevelle - Vitamin R (Leading Us Along)
Muse? Psalm 78

It has been a day of days. I don't know how I make it sometimes, but then I remember; I got the big guy upstairs giving me strength. Anyway. Today has been really long, but the best part of my day was definitely hearing Tony Eubanks, the chaplain for the football team, speak. He spoke on Psalm 78, and how God is really trying to get our attention in the first few lines of the psalm.
O my people, hear my teaching;
listen to the words of my mouth.
I will open my mouth in parables,
I will utter hidden things, things from of old-
what we have heard and known,
what our fathers have told us.
We will not hide them from their children;
we will tell the next generation
the praiseworthy deeds of the LORD ,
his power, and the wonders he has done.
He decreed statutes for Jacob
and established the law in Israel,
which he commanded our forefathers
to teach their children,
so the next generation would know them,
even the children yet to be born,
and they in turn would tell their children.
Then they would put their trust in God
and would not forget his deeds
but would keep his commands.
It is our job to evangelize the next generation, whether that be the literal next generation of people, or the next generation of Christians. So, our job is to reach out to everyone we can. We must let God's living water flow out of us like a fountain, so that everyone can taste and see that He is good. So, my challenge for myself is to definitely be more of a witness then I have ever been. It's going to be hard, extremely hard, but that is the next big step for me. God has been revolutionizing my life lately, and it is very evident to me in everything I do. (my thoughts, my actions, my reactions, etc.) God challenged me with this about a week and a half ago, and I have been pushing it to the side. So, tonight He really got my attention again. My QT yesterday was on Jeremiah 2 and 3, and it really emphasized my return to God and His grace, and part of the return is my responsiblilty to share the gospel that I have been gifted with. Well there's my heart. I need to witness. Pray for me in this, and I'll do the same and start excercising my evangelism muscles too.

Later...
